MERGE TINY CLOSED COLOR ZONES INTO THE BEST MATCHING LARGER NEIGHBOR.
Clean vector illustrations by removing very small enclosed color regions without choosing neighbors by color or center distance.
Tiny Merger detects small ordinary closed filled paths by area and optional maximum dimensions. It compares real Bezier boundaries, finds a larger same-layer neighbor with the longest exact shared edge, and applies Pathfinder Unite only to verified temporary copies.
Process selected objects, the active artboard, or all artboards, and analyze the planned cleanup before changing artwork.

HOW TINY MERGER WORKS
TASK
Find and merging tiny unwanted pieces in complex vector artwork
RUN TINY MERGER
Choose File > Scripts > Tiny Merger if installed, or File > Scripts > Other Script... and select the supplied Tiny Merger .jsx file.
Select the ordinary paths or groups that need cleanup.
2. Choose Selected objects.
3. Set a small area threshold, optional width/height limit, and conservative boundary tolerance
4. Click ANALYZE, review the counts, then click START
NO MORE FINDING AND MERGING HUNDREDS OF TINY PIECES BY HAND.
Only eligible tiny zones in the selection are merged with verified larger neighbors on the same layer.
HOW TINY MERGER WORKS
- Work on a backup copy and show/unlock only the intended artwork.
- Choose Selected objects, Active artboard, or All artboards.
- Set area, optional maximum width/height, and boundary tolerance in px or mm.
- Click ANALYZE before START MERGING.
- Review the final counts, remaining zones, errors, appearance, and stacking order.
- Repeat only when zones were deferred by safety limits.

- macOS or Windows
- Ordinary closed filled paths with measurable shared Bezier boundaries.
- Intended objects and layers visible and unlocked.
- Exact supported Illustrator and operating-system versions are not stated in the supplied guide.
IMPORTANT TO KNOW
- Neighbors must be larger, on the same layer, and share an exact boundary within tolerance.
- Compound Paths, guides, clipping paths, and hidden or locked content are excluded.
- Limits: 200 tiny zones per artboard, 8 merges per target, 12 contours and 400 anchors per target.
- A failed or ambiguous Pathfinder result leaves the original pair unchanged.
- Basic fill and stroke are transferred, but complex Appearance effects are not guaranteed.
- Merging replaces original pairs and can change stacking order.
